FSMweather
Does anybody got any scanners to listen to out of Hattiesburg?
brettjrob
Quite an E-W band of likely-tornadic supercells ongoing now. My meme from a few days ago is not looking so hot. Looks like the upper (and surface) low being so far removed from the warm sector is not a problem.
Disc
Likely a strong tornado still ongoing with this cell.
wxmeddler
Hattiesburg cell still cranking, BWER. At this level it isn't so much a BWER as the mesocyclone throwing up water vapor without coalescing into water droplets. Radar doesn't pick up the water vapor so that right there is the center of the updraft.

thunderman
We all love it when our forecasts verify, but on days like today I think we would all just as soon rather have our forecasts bust. Unfortunately, this is double edged sword because the more we bust the more the public ignores our advanced warnings. Hopefully no fatalities come out this. andyhb
Two videos from Hattiesburg, the first is just stupid close (Darwin Award), the second shows all manner of things, with the tornado shapeshifting between multi vortex and a wedge, with huge debris being cast aloft and large power flashes... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=165703606911934

SluggerWx
Pretty decent leadership here by the RA on Southern Miss campus dorm. Video taped the whole process yesterday with a 'GoPro' strapped to his head. First-person crisis management - and you can kind of hear how stressed he is that some of the people might not listen to him and evacuate their rooms. Worthy watch - and IMO, pretty good job by the RA considering the circumstances.
