tnweathernut
It is interesting that while Augusta and Charleston were the driest, that KTRI recorded the most January precip in their history (tallying over 10 inches of mostly rain with a little snow too). tnweathernut
That really is an incredible map. Take a look at LA...................extreme southeast part of the state, up to 3 inches below normal for the month, and 50 miles to your northwest, 9 to 12 inches above normal. Quite a precip gradient there!

Stormsfury
Apparently, a balancing act much quicker than anticipated. Define the irony.
