doug1991
Don't even care if i jackpot, Just want enough to ride on, I don't have that fetish as most have on here, The northern s/w has been there all along, I was pretty confident we were going to see snow anyways, The only questions to be answered was do we get a coastal and how much I hear ya DS. We are looking forward to our trip to Caribou the end of this month but its looking bleak.
SR Airglow
Upton thinks the EURO is warning criteria for me. Are they seeing something that I'm missing, thought EURO was a quick changeover to rain. -skisheep THEECMWF...ON THE OTHER HAND...HAS A DEEPER TROUGH ALONG THE EASTCOAST...WHICH BRINGS COLDER AIR INTO THE LOCAL AREA AND KEEPS THEPRECIP AS SNOW. MOST OF THE GFS ENSEMBLE MEMBERS FOLLOW A TRACKSIMILAR TO...AND JUST SOUTH OF...THE 00Z GFS. THE GFS ENSEMBLEMEAN IS ALSO SIMILAR TO THE 00Z OPERATIONAL GFS. THE STORMASSOCIATED WITH THE ECMWF IS ALSO DEEPER AND PRODUCES MORE QPFTHAN THE GFS.CANNOT RULE OUT THE ECMWF...AS THAT WOULD BRING WINTER STORM WARNINGLEVEL SNOWFALL...BUT WILL SIDE WITH THE WARMER SOLUTIONS FOR NOW. SR Airglow
0z euro is a blizzard for large parts of sne. True, but i'm back near NYC(Stamford, CT), so really more of the NYC metro climate. Is the EURO actually a blizzard even for me though? -skisheep

powderfreak
Well we finally have other guidance caving to the Euro...the biggest question will be if the Euro caves back at all, but even if it does, that would still result in a moderate event for SNE I think like the GFS is showing. Euro ensembles were very impressive. Advisory or low end warning looks pretty likely for all of New England regardless.

Not looking for huge amounts, a nice 4-6/6-8" type of deal would be perfect, would have no problem enjoying that and then heading north for skiing with the monster amounts. Euro is perfect, lock it please! -skisheep

Not sure how to ask my question, so bear with me - but I thought I saw someone mention that when the pattern is changing a large storm can be the result. Is it possible that is what is happening and this storm is bringing about a pattern change?

Baroclinic Zone
Stupid question but are the Wunderground Euro maps 3 or 6h totals. The images are obviously every 3 hr but are the QPF ones for that 3hr period or the prior 6? If they are the 3hr totals than the Euro has 26-32" over me. LOL-tastic. That's like the 3rd time this year for this.

HoarfrostHubb
Not today for ne. 2/6. Is when it began. During morning recess for me. It was the last day for the year at the Lewis School I went to for K-5. The roof collapsed and we finished in another mothballed buiding Good times, good times

Is it possible that is what is happening and this storm is bringing about a pattern change? Well a big storm is possible, but not sure if it delivers as robust as the 00z euro. Speed is still an issue too. I don't think this will bring about a pattern change, although it turns milder behind it down tte road. I buy a storm, but there are many questions that need to be answered. I definitely would advise waiting a day or two before getting excited.
