Dsnowx53
The vorticity with the southern stream is a bit weaker, though. I'm gonna let the run play out before making any major predictions.
earthlight
The Euro looks even more amplified with the ridge and northern stream than it was last run. It looks to me like it might be a little less energetic with the northern stream so far but the stronger ridge could lead to it becoming more aggressive in future frames. earthlight
The two streams are definitely more separated as well, which says to me that we'll see a later phase on this run.
earthlight
Phases just in time, and it actually looks like the Euro still wants the coastal to take over. This is a nice hit for many areas in this forum at 72 hours.

earthlight
Any snow at all for Baltimore on this run?. Possibly some light accumulations between 78-84 hours as the storm bombs out offshore. The Euro has a pretty expansive QPF shield as the phase occurs and whatever warm air was there has collapsed by that point. So I suppose there could be a few inches if this run was correct. 96blizz
Thanks Earthlight! Seemed the kind of storm that would have a cutoff in NE NJ but still solid. Appreciate it!
Heisy
WOW, Just looked at EURO, much colder, borderline for me in Philly, close call..I have stormvista euro too, earthlight you're more familiar with these graphics. Knowing EURO tendencies etc do you think verbatim Philly goes over to snow quick enough for 6+?

Well as bad as this sounds I would take that in a heartbeat. I have not seen a snowstorm of 2" in over 2 years now. Thanks.
CooL
That northern stream vort just dives in hard to capture the storm thanks to the ridge out west coming in stronger. Another trend like this and we get nuked
earthlight
There's also much less warm air advection ahead of the northern stream shortwave, so the separation of the two streams helped pretty dramatically this run as the northern stream wave ends up diving farther southeast. The track and general placement of features is pretty similar to the Euro Ens from 12z...just obviously much more dramatic with the QPF/etc compared to the Ens mean.
