Nowhere near an inch here, but if snow growth was optimal, I'd be reprting moderate snow right now. As it is, the flakes are so fine that it almost looks more like a rainy drizzle. Temp holding at 20 degrees.

Steve the snow growth is fine. The issue is your aren't going to get big flakes when you are under 10dbz radar returns. Especially in clear air mode.

Roads are bad here in Lancaster County. A plethora of accidents have been reported across the region. The accumulations might be light, but the roads are still VERY slick!

Yes it doesnt take much to cause issues with drivers, and the problem is we have such a cold ground and the ground is re-freezing on the surface again i am noticing here in SE Delco.

Roger that. When car tires go over this fluffy snow it compacts, freezes, and exaggerates the problems. The other factor is that we had heavy rainfall just a couple days ago which essentially washed all of the leftover salt off of the roads. It's like a clean slate for this snow to fall on!

Maybe out there, but the genuis streets dept  here in Philadelphia (at least in NE Philly) dumped an obscene amount of

salt yesterday morning before sunrise. Guess they were expecting a blizzard.

Anyway, there was so much salt down it looked like it had snowed overnight after the vehicles pulverized it into white dust.

However, don't think it would help tonight as it is no longer where the vehicles drive. The side of the roads will be fine though. lol
