Unfortunately the extremely dry conditions in the country's midsection do not favor that outcome.

i read elsewhere that perhaps with all the snowcover in Canada, the thermal gradient will be enhanced this spring, bringing more rains to those area and thus bringing cooler temps and above normal precip east due to the wetter grounds out there...

What an absolutely gorgeous day right now in Somerset County. Temperatures have definitely over performed here with a current temperature of around 77 degrees. If guidance has generally been underestimating the warmth potential, then it wouldn't surprise me to see some pretty impressive warm readings for April on Wednesday.

Rapid City is expecting up to 12+ inches of snow. Here is a webcam of Rapid City if anyone is interested. I know I will be watching this tonight and tomorrow.

They can have it. Currently sitting out on the porch and basking in the warmth/sun. Plus I got 60+ inches of snow this winter.. Good enough for me

Rapid City with 13F, -6F wind chill, 0.5 mile visibility with snow/blowing snow. Accumulations there expected to end up well over a foot. What goes up here goes down there, and vice-versa.
