The warmest day on the 00z Euro is one week from today. Temps could also approach 70 degress well away from the coast on Tuesday. Both days Long Island stays in the 50's verbatim. Their are also several storm threats to watch. Looks like it may be a very rainy April.

On the Euro, around the 10th should be a warm period with a westerly flow ahead of a cold front, and a ridge centered east of here. But we have to watch for troughiness northeast of us, as that can put a damper on things real fast. The flow looks to finally open up and become more progressive, so hopefully no long dreary periods or big coastal rain events.

The Euro has been consistent with digging a long wave trough through the southwest US and into the southern plains and gulf coast. This in return pumps up the SE ridge some and we get into a bit of a southwest flow for a time. At the same time the southern stream becomes very active with numerous storm systems cutting either over us or west of us to the lakes. Any one of those systems would have the potential to dump buckets of rain over the area.

The park failed to reach 32 overnight, pretty impressive.

It's extremely tough to make it below 32 anymore in the urbanized areas-solar heating during the day likely stays trapped and takes forever to radiate back fully this time of year, plus the heat island. The wind was also a little gusty, which keeps temps up also. Tonight if winds are calmer there's a good shot though.

They all should do it tonight. Like you said wind did not go calm last night

We've been going down every couple of weeks to check on the second home in Lavalette. To say the least, it was much worse just one month ago. Removal of most of the boats from properties along with demolition of many of destroyed homes has also helped clean up the area. The sand is also taking on its more typical appearance (no longer brown, clay-like appearance). It is still terrible down there, but much, much better than it was. Ironically, the NJ shore will likely have a record breaking summer. Recent poll showed that 85% of NJ residents were not going to change their summer plans.

I highly doubt a record breaking year for the nj shore. 85% of the residents have no idea what it looks like outside point pleasant and seaside hgts

If winds go calm, KISP might even break it's all time coldest April temp. KFOX should be a cool station to watch tonight, could get down into the teens out there!

..38* now(1030pm)..NWS has their forecast low @ 19*..WOW!

wonder what their record is(@ gabreski).

The all-time April record low temp at KFOK is 16°F set on 4/3/2008. KHTO, which is basically East Hampton and has a much longer period of record, its all time coldest April temp was 14°F set on 4/7/1982. The daily record for tomorrow at KFOK is 23°F in 2001. The daily record low at KHTO for tomorrow is 17°F set in 1954.

Don't think we'll get that cold. Too windy still.
