SACRUS
Some continued support for a gradual change in the long range on/around early April. We'll see if this continues to get pushed back but can we see a nice warmup somewhere in or between 3/1 and the first week of April? If we do I suspect its short lived but would be nice. mcgin
so the overall consensus is no real spring until at least mid April?

SnoSki14
On days like today where it's mostly sunny with that warm late March sun, it doesn't feel bad at all. Temperatures will almost always be higher than forecast in these situations. It's already at 46, above the forecast of 44.

forkyfork
"ensembles" is incorrect unless you mean multiple ensemble means. "ensemble mean" or "ensemble members" is correct
forkyfork
"qpf" is another irritating mistake. it's an initialism for "quantitative precipitation forecast." saying, "the euro brings more quantitative precipitation forecast north" doesn't really make sense, does it? I wouldn't be surprised if we saw another storm threat in early April as the NAO starts to rebound towards neutral, the so-called Archembault event. I had a low of 25F this morning and made it down to 19F a few mornings ago. Very impressive for late March. Looks like we'll have subfreezing nights continue for a while. IsentropicLift
The Euro weeklies have winter ending in the middle of April. In what has been a few year stretch of extreme weather, would not be surpising if we went from winter straight to summer with a very short lived Spring in terms of temperatures. That would be fine with me since once the snow is over, I have no use for cold temps. Wouldn't shock me if we had another Tropical threat towards the end of Summer either. Euro weeklies http://www.accuweather.com/en/weather-blogs/anderson/any-signs-of-spring-1/8644661 Looks like we're on the edge of a Midwest ridge by April 15-21 but we are colder than normal until then with -NAO/+PNA ruling the roost. SnoSki14
There's still no pronounced spring warmup going forward, a -nao and + pna will dictate that as many mentioned, today's ao forecast also backed off on it being positive going into April. And any warmup has kept getting pushed back even by the weeklies who previously showed a warmup coming the 2nd week of April and now it looks chilly once more.
