Zir0b
off to bed...nearly midnight and GGEM hasn't even initialized yet. My thoughts are after the GGEM/Euro come out the blend of all the models will come out to around 1" of QPF...perhaps still giving us some time for a few ticks up, to around 1.25" or so as we approach the start of the event. Think NYC itself loses around 40% qpf to rain/slop/light qpf. 4-7" would be my call right now
NorthShoreWx
31.2/18 temp down 0.2 degress in just the last minute (falling like a rock), All surfaces bare except where there are still patches of old snow.

WintersGrasp
Steve D forecasting 1-3 inches as his final call for NYC lol That is not a bad call at all. Upton itself is only going 1-2 maybe 3 as well. Many sources going 2-4 and the higher forecasts 3-6. Not much evidence to back up anything more than 6"

KingofQueens
Our area continues to get trolled by the pattern. I want spring now but nature wants winter. And it isn't the kind of winter that I like either, as it is basically a continuation of the winter we have had (excluding Nemo).
Cfa
I really like cloudless days like today. If only it was 74 instead of 44.

West Milford Highlander
Got to love people bashing mets on TV with a forecast like this - I'd love to see what they'd do in front of the spotlight - at least they have the balls to make a call!!! Seriously! That was my dream job growing up. I would happily turn down their several hundred k salary if only for today. I would love to see half the weenies in here get in front of an audience of millions today and give a forecast for this storm!
Guest Patrick
there are very few careers out there where one bad call can destroy decades of hard work and research. kudos to the educated folks who use everything they have to give us the best idea of a weather forecast. aside from the very low iq people, hearing an explanation of what the weather might look like and WHY is enough...granted there are still dunces that refer to sleet as hail, and just want to see a picture on a calendar. perhaps if someone is really disgruntled and would like to know why"the government money" can't create a forecast for a very complex weather system, they should independently ask questions and learn about the reasons why before bashing. as an analogy, my retirement investor is so good at his job that he is semi retired at thirty two...but there are so many variables in the free market, his education and experience might mean nothing one day. enjoy your hail and snow advisories today. LongBeachSurfFreak
Mods, can you come up with some sort of rule in the main storm discussion thread in regards to model play by play? It is a mess in there with 5 people seeing 5 different things. I mean, I have thrown in the towel in regards to the model hugging as gospel but this is something else and even more annoying. There has to be a better way!
