I step out for one day and all he'll breaks loose

Acton area?

LOL, I would move north if it weren't for fam and friends. My ideal town is Newburyport. Great for snow, tstms, and ocean. But, too far from people I know. I like the coast, but snow just does not last around here in the city. I go to my folks place and it looks like Princeton compared to here. Of course, part of it is the result of forested area.

As someone who does quite a bit of Christmas decorating, I was always curious about colder and snowier climates like lets say Fairbanks. When do they put up decorations? in October when it's not below zero outside and permanently dark. I seriously doubt they would take them down in the end of January when it's -40F outside.

I doubt much goes up out there....mainly stuff in windows and inside I would guess...

Newburyport is a great place... it's awesome up there. Family friends of ours had a house on Plum Island.

South Shore is great though.... closer to the Cape!

I'm s-shore at heart...I love storms. But, commute is a nightmare. Braintree is 9 miles south of BOS so not bad for the wife and ok for me.

I b**ch about snow in the winter, but I love chilling by the water front with a gin and tonic and some fresh seafood.

Do you want/need to stay near Boston? I would think W. Concord would be ok for coastal storms and right on the commuter rail and Rt 2.

Very nice places but too far from friends and fam.

My taste has changed in the last two years. I love the nightlife, but I want a house and a yard to call my own. Never thought I would like the burbs like I do now.

Yep you are definetly getting domesticated and that's a great thing. Right town, peace, security but close enough if ya want to let your hair down. Cities are made to visit , country is where you can find yourself alone with the stars and relax.

Stoughton to Foxboro corridor would be a good spot if you are looking to stay close. Don't listen to the anti ocean people. Even Halifax to Easton area would be a decent spot

Lived in Stoughton for about 7 years.  Was surprised at the snow differences there compared to other immediate locales.  Was a nice spot.  Have some great photos from snow storms that happened in the late 90's and early-mid 2000's when we lived there.

scott go to randolph, avon or stoughton,  braintree isn't really even better than dorchester for snow....they usually torch on Cfronts and meh

I don't think that is much of an improvement,  jmo.   Perhaps Stoughton is a bit better if you're on a weenie 300-500' slope.    ;)
