You also have entire yards and fields that are wind swept bare out in the plains during a blizzard. Not good for those people who don't like to see grass the next day.

that's what it's like here after these two storms. some hills and fields are completely bare thanks to those 50 and 60 knot gusts. and then you trudge into the woods and into thigh deep snow. even in my yard it's like that.

Kind of a light rain/snow mix that keeps oscillating back and forth depending on precipitation intensity. Just light rain at the moment, but waiting for a burst of heavier echoes to arrive from the W and SW. Maybe I can get a quick coating later on.

I'm also seeing a bit of an upslope snow shower signal developing here for tomorrow and tomorrow night behind the cold front as the low intensifies and becomes stacked off to the NE. The stacked low will rotate some moisture and disturbances around it, which could lead to some persistent snow showers along the west side of the Berkshires, Taconics, and Greens. Obviously, the further north one goes, the better the chances of seeing accumulating snow. PF should make out very well the next few days, with maybe even some luck down here if the snow showers can develop down the spine.

I will be interested to see how the heavier stuff over NY fairs in it's journey through the Berkshires.  Hopefully doesn't get wrung out before it hits the E Slope.

I think you should see some decent lift for a brief period as this stuff moves from W to E. It's mostly mid-level driven, and the Pioneer Valley shouldn't get shadowed if the winds are southerly.
