Apologies for my supercrap photog skillz. This at least shows the accumulation on the streets. Side street was bare at 8AM.

 

St. Mark's Church is about 1/8 mi away-- that's my "heavy snow" visibility landmark.

 

Intensity has picked up in last 10 mins (since picture as taken), by the way.

thats a nice sight to see. You have a good amount more snow on the ground there than here. Congrats!

We probably had about 4 inches after sublimation/melting/settling from last weekend and the weaksauce half inches this week. But the streets/sidewalks had been clear.

You bring up a good point Dave.  The lake plain certainly seems to be an issue with most models with these type of situations (Dieing primary)......  Not so much because WNY was ever going to get much precip from the initial lift of moisture, but the ramifications of a warmer profile due to deeper LP penetration into the lake plain (vs. model progs), may surprise many (not all) out that way wrt pingers.

At work we discussed this too even as it relates to ENY the lows coming in from the west often are warmer than modeled.
