OSUmetstud
Speak for yourself my friend, ROC has had Moderate to heavy snow for 5 hours straight now. Its been absolutley fantastic. He did use the word "here" lol
WNash
This storm sucks here. Sorry but to me its a bust. I never expected a ton here but I figured a solid 6" or so and never expected to hit 40 degrees this morning. I have been getting good snowfall rates but its honestly melting quicker than its accumulating. I think its gonna be a huge struggle to reach 4" storm total here. There was going to be a cutoff to the south of Buffalo. We have well over six inches in Parkside, so I think the warning verified. I wouldn't call it a bust, but everyone has been on the outside sometime and it sucks.
BuffaloWeather
Measured the amount of new snow on my car, seems about 3-3.5 inches. Very wet! Should easily get to the predicted 4-8 by tonight.
heavy_wx
Moderate snow and 29F here with medium sized dendrites. Maybe an inch so far.
LakeEffectKing
Over here in CNY, some banding starting to take place just to SYR's west...and an unofficial report of 4" in 2 hours between Auburn and ROC.
champy
I'm on that little notch of Onondaga county outside Auburn, the snow is really starting to band in crazy here after being completely dry all day. I'll get a few pics up shortly. Over here in CNY, some banding starting to take place just to SYR's west...and an unofficial report of 4" in 2 hours between Auburn and ROC. steffen
Temp has dropped from 33 to 26 in the past 1.5 hours here. Very fine light snow currently, but the wind is really blowing around the snow now.
2Slick
OMG like were about to get like...4 inches here tonight. Oh lawd were not prepared -_-. I want the beach weather already, over these puny storms. Lake Effect 2010 <3 Valentines Storm 2007 <3 Ever since then, mehhhhh.
OSUmetstud
That was about the heaviest 1 1/2" of snow I'll shoveled in my life.
Gravity Wave
Moderate snow in Ithaca for the past 90 minutes, only a little under an inch in accumulation. The radar says we're under the heaviest snow currently in upstate NY, which is pretty pathetic if true. The hi res NAM, RAP and RUC have the snow sticking around until 2-4 AM but looking at the western edge of the precip marching east I'm not exactly confident that's going to happen. jiksports
Massive flakes here in Ithaca. Ratio can't be better than 8 to 1 right now.

I said it was a bust here. Not in North Buffalo not in Niagara Falls not in Rochester I said here. Im glad everyone else got their snow though I really am. Take some more pics for us who couldnt be as fortunate lol.

Leelee
MAYBE next time, where in s buf are you located? Right next to the West Seneca border. Maybe 1.5" of 3:1 ratio cement here with just flurries now. I don't think we can call this a bust, we did get the QPF, as my back can attest to. I can't recall a synoptic event having such a gradient like this.

heavy_wx
We have between 1.5-2" here. There's actually some decent banding over us now with 25 dBz reflectivity echoes. The visibility is pretty low, maybe 1/2-1/4 mile, enhanced by the wind.

That is just about impossible. Maybe 7:1-8:1 but still feels like shoveling cement. Maybe 3" here at best and thats being generous eyeballing it. Revracer800
Have about the same here 1.5-2" and coming down pretty good. Has kinda let up a little from a little while ago.

Syrmax
3.5" in SYR north burbs. This thing will struggle to reach WSW levels here but prob will. BGMs revised down totals of 6-8 look about right. #weaksauce as expected.
heavy_wx
Around 3" here. It's gotten much colder with the temperature now at 22F. I think we'll only see another inch or two, with the best mesoscale forcing now east of us and the coastal low taking over.
ayuud11
Currently heavy snow with strong winds outside.

champy
It snowed real decent here for 2 hours, grabbed a quick 4.3". OT - but does anyone remember that CNY snowburst we got in late Jan (95-96 maybe?) where we got something like 9-11" in 2 hours in a snowburst? That's still the hardest I've ever seen it snow in my life.
DeltaT13
That little comma head/deformation zone looks really juicy. This thing is going to go out with a bang...

2Slick
Nothing special around here. Past few days I've just been reading it going from 12-18, 8-12, 6-10, and now 4-8. Lol. Seriously. Why is it so hard to start off low so people DONT GET THERE HOPES UP???!!! (The ones that like snow that is)
the minister
I'd say 5 or 6 inches here just below Ithaca so far, and still pouring down. Roads are very, very bad! Heavy, wet snow that sticks to all the pine trees - really pretty,
