Eskimo Joe
lol the NAM has a ridiculous amount of New England snow. Saw on another forum there's a tiny area of 60" Ridiculous numbers aside, it could definitely be interpreted as a signal for an anomalous weather event for New England. Could this be a redux of the E/E (ETA/Euro) rule?

Santa Clause
Lol sorry jamie not sure what you mean? If you are referring to Miller Bs, yeah they are definitely proceed with caution events. Good to keep expectations fairly low on these deals. New England could just get plain crazy.

Eskimo Joe
Yes, that's very true, excellent point. Did you see this? It was posted on the NE forum: That is absolutely embarrassing to the science of meteorology; it is a ratings scheme and nothing more. In the event the forecast would change, this individual and his associated station would be mocked by an increasingly skeptic public. I'm rather vexed about this. EDIT: Yes, there is a potential for a major snowstorm, so the prudent course of action would be to say something to the order of, "significant snowfall well in excess of a foot has been advertised by some guidance, but we don't want to give exact numbers just yet. For now begin making preparations for your home and business."
canderson
Per the NE thread: GFS has 70 mph + gusts for Boston with over 2 feet of snow. Insane.

I don't think that aired, it looks to be a picture from behind-the-scenes with just the output on a monitor.

It's still on the Internet with his face, and station logo. That's bad enough.

canderson
My apologies, meant ensembles. Fingers ahead of brain. I'm indifferent on this storm, sure I'd love a few inches but I am hoping it slows a bit so I can get home in time to watch live coverage from Boston/RI/NH. Looking at the text output through Friday 7 pm we have about .23, you have .39 but the surface is above freezing some of it before a crash at the end.
