MAG5035
CTP fwiw has taken out verbiage of freezing rain and sleet for my forecast. It's about time, Euro has had this pegged thermally for awhile now and the NAM today has finally cooled down to having pretty much all snow with whatever falls with the main event. MAG5035
MAG - any early thoughts on next week? Anyone - What did the 12z ECM have for said event? Last nights and todays Euro had the wave way suppressed and seemed like a really progressive solution. Not an event for anybody except for some rain on the Gulf coast basically. At this range that's nothing i'd be overly concerned about as I'd continue to watch that period for another storm as we will have another southern stream system coming out of the southwest in some fashion. Additionally I'd keep an eye on our system that cuts and perhaps sets up this late next week system in interior central PA cuz it has been looking like an icing threat on the front end like the last cutter we had. We'll handle these things more in earnest once we boot out the ridiculous storm at hand early this weekend.
NortheastPAWx
Aye...usually when the GFS is on its own, expect no storm...damn it. Thanks anyway.

MAG5035
solid 3 to 6 looking good here? I have you pretty much on the 5 inch line with my map on the previous page, so yea I'd say so. That's what most models generally suggest for you. You could def do better if you hang in the backlash of the storm longer.

JamieOber
Too bad it's the NAM. If the Euro supports it then that's fantastic, because the Euro/NAM combo is often a lock.

NeffsvilleWx
Too bad it's the NAM. The NAM has been decent with this system so far, hasn't it? I mean, once it trended away from the "lulz" snow predictions for NE.
canderson
If the Euro supports it then that's fantastic, because the Euro/NAM combo is often a lock. The NAM continually overestimates qpf, and isn't it really poor at handling phases?
