I know you guys are infatuated with the current storm (I am too), but check out what the 12z GFS does with the day 6 storm:

attachicon.gifGFS.JPG

Looks like 90% of us would get more from this storm than the one tomorrow. At least there is more to track!

and to add to that... take a look at what it does for Sun-Mon the 17/18th :-)

If we can get that area of high pressure to hang around beyond next Tuesday I would get real excited if that system can pull together nicely for Wed... current 12z run has QPF of .78" for MDT and then Sun/Mon with ~1.15"... such a tease lol

Nice.

I refuse to go into MA. lol

But isn't a giant storm worth having to deal with Patriots fans?

I don't want to get too thrilled but the VD storm has been there for a while. And agreed, the rest of the longrange looks good.

Jmister Thanks fingers crossed.

Rick the NWS must not know either. they are talking QPF instead of inches.

Friday Night: Snow likely, mainly before 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 22. West wind 6 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Eastern nice map! Bless you 6-9

CTP's 11:30AM update is encouraging for a little something here

16Z UPDATE...09Z SREF AND 12Z NAM/GFS RAMPING UP QPF ACROSS CENTRAL ANDNORTHERN PA...SUPPORTING CURRENT WATCHES AND EXPANSION OF THOSEWATCHES FARTHER SOUTH AND EAST. MEAN QPFS IN THE 0.4 TO 0.7 RANGEFROM THE NORTHERN TIER TO THE LOWER SUSQ. RIVER VALLEY NOWDEPICTED IN DETERMINISTIC RUNS...WITH PLUMES GIVING HIGHERCONFIDENCE TO HIGH ADVISORY AMOUNTS OR APPROACHING WARNING AMOUNTSFOR A GOOD PART OF NORTHERN AND EAST CENTRAL AREAS. STRONGDEFORMATION AS THE COASTAL LOW INTENSIFIES WILL BE THE MAINMECHANISM FOR PRECIPITATION ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. THESNOW COULD LINGER INTO SATURDAY MORNING ACROSS FAR NORTHEASTERNAREAS. EXPANDED WINTER STORM WATCHES SOUTHWARD TO ELK AND CAMERONCOUNTIES ESE THROUGH CLINTON...SNYDER AND SCHUYLKILL COUNTIES.BUT RETURNING TO THE NEAR TERM...

New snow map shows 2-3 here and 1-2 for most of the CWA, I'd be happy with that and watching Boston get dumped on.

Feeling for you guys since it looks like you guys get ripped off tomorrow (I call these storms "central PA middle finger storms" for a reason), but there are some solid opportunities upcoming. You guys have had a half-decent season thus far, maybe you can make a run of it if these pan out.

what are you thinking for your area JM?

About to release this map after Euro baring some kind of train wreck.

Zach, your maps have come A LONG WAY from the beginning. I mean this in all honesty, they are the best-looking maps posted on this forum. And I'm a graphic designer so I know what I'm talking about (at least a little bit!).

They are clean, easy to read, bright, etc. Great job.

I'll second that thought.

I think many of us would like to see you stick around for a while. I know I always enjoyed your insight, I'm sure I'm not alone.
