Stebo
Hmm, my 2.9" call for this event might end up being pretty close for ORD. Much better than my last call. Although this last hourly has me worried that they may have had a nice one hour slamming. DAFF
Radar filling in all around us now. With snowflakes allready falling we might have a nice little event underway. My call is for a heavy 2" when settled. Feb is turning out to be a very nice month. Later tonight I will post a snow pile for someone who loves the snow in Michigan !! Stebo
you will bust high but it will be close I don't know, there are a lot of similar near 3" reports coming from the area around the airport. I think the margin of bust is probably +/- .2".

Agree on the +/- .2"
snowstormcanuck
Some banding on LOT radar with several mores hours of snow to go. With or without LES, think you guys should at least approach 4". Looks like the returns west of the city are falling apart. 4" looks like a weenie call. Well, I tried a bit a positivity. Shows how well that works.
kevlon62
Around 3" back home. Commute highlight was jack-knifed semi at I-290 & Biesterfield. Roads a lot worse closer to home but still nothing like if we actually had a real storm.
Chicago WX
From the LSRs I've seen so far, 2-3" is the general range for N IL...with a few over 3". Liquid equivalent reports close to the amounts of snow...ratios must have been rather pedestrian. Blah.
Northern_IN_Wx
Near an inch of snow here so far. Now flurries as main FGEN band has shifted north as expected.
Chicago WX
Amounts through 6:00am this morning. 2.6" at ORD on 0.21" liquid. 3.6" at RFD on 0.28" liquid.
Chicago WX
ORD: 4.5" Alek: 4.7" Batavia: 3.6" Cortland: 2.6" Mt Geos: 5.3" Streamwood: 1.1" (sketchy measuring) Pretty awful call. Also, won't see a flake here. Yuck.

Chicago WX
not a disaster of an event but still another underperformer. I suppose. Bought into the higher ratios, much to my demise.

michsnowfreak
Interesting reports about ratios in Chicago. We had very light snow overnight, just a trace, and then around 8am the steady snow began and just eyeballing it it looks, once again, to be very fluffy snow here. tuanis
Pretty sloppy snowfall in the city with small flakes, high water content. Friday night's event was gorgeous, this one not so much. Traffic a mess on my commute right now. About 2.5" I'd say.

Chicago WX
I thought the NAM was going to bring Mike some snowfall with this next one. Would've been poetic justice. But somehow, it ducks south at the last minute.
michsnowfreak
Heaviest band looks lo be setting up over I-94 once again I know. And it is accumulating fast. Luftfeuchtigkeit
IMBY: 1.7", .12 water equiv., snow depth 6 in. Less than I was hoping for on both the le and the ratio (14:1). Snow pack has really settled considering over 11" of snow has fallen in the last 4 days. I'm not complaining though, was out this morning and snow is beautiful and pretty deep. michsnowfreak
I wonder if the gridlocked commutes of recent days have anything to do with that. Though this should be a steady light snow instead of the blinding squalls. After lowballing accum forecasts all week I say this time they are too high...its looking more like an inch, though I hope Im wrong. Tuesdays clipper now looks more interesting. DTX ftw, Josh FAIL. Eyeballing it seems we are approaching an inch an hour and a half into the event.

Can NEVER remember such a stretch of I-94 goodness. Its been like a snowmagnet this week. No kidding I-94 FTW!. Feels good to be in the I-94 corridor this past week or so, usually this is the dreaded "rain/snow/sleet/ice" line. Nice fat flakes floating around out right now and accumulating pretty quickly. SpartyOn
I75 Freeway gridlock from about Big Beaver to i94. Awful commute! Nice swath of +SN destroying the Detroit area.
Geos
Looks like a bit over 2" here. Snowing at a good clip right now. Edit: Only just now working on 1.7"! I hope this LES kicks in, otherwise this is another bust.
The_Global_Warmer
Got 4 to 4.5 inches the other night. 3 inches in one hour. that is what 35 DBZ band will do. Insane snow growth, hamster flakes. Lambert had .26 liquid, 4.0 inches, great ratio's this far South with bottom 4000ft within 1.0C of freezing.
