Let me guess after the weekend rain and early next week rain you are going to want more precip when it turns cold and dry?

Hell yeah. If its dry I want warm temps like earlier today. Nice steady to occasionally heavy rain outside. Earlier it was coming down in buckets. Still haven't heard any thunder since the end of summer.

I always throw food to my cat at night when I hear him on the back door. Several nights later I just so happened to turn the light on this time when I was going to feed him but turned out I was feeding/talking to a possum the entire time. He just looked at me and smiled....stayed near my porch for weeks.

Dare you to try and get that lottery ticket away from him.

Ha! And they stink. Friend of mine had one get into his wall. He had a hole in the siding in his garage or patio or something, and it got in there and tore up some of the insulation and it cost him quite a bit of money to fix it. At least I don't have a hole in my wall....I don't think. :)

If u trap them and haul away eventually they stop. When i get rid of one thats usually it. Feed cat only when its there. Remove food source and possum leaves for good. They can do some damage

We were disassembling a datsun 510 a few years back up on the lift. During the second day in disassembly we started on the trunk area when we heard a huge amount of hissing. Then this huge azz possum came jumping out at us hissing and attacking. We opened the garage door and chased it down the driveway with any tool we could find. A few weeks later my buddy was going to check the mail when he heard a hiss and thump. The possum had jumped/fallen out of the tree right behind him and was in defensive mode. He turned around, went inside, and got his shotgun and killed the fscker. Then threw it in the ditch by the side of the road. Damn possums.

I have never seen an actual alive possum. Whenever I see one, its dead on the side of the road.

possums are the reason why shotguns were invented.

Shotguns are too easy. Coworker of mine had a possum get in a tangle with his girlfriend's small dog. She was screaming at him to do something. He killed the possum with a maul; would have made Lizzie Borden proud.

Trees are getting their leaves again down here. Sad thing is spring isn't coming just yet. I see I have 30s again in the forecast. The groundhog is bull**** and the opposite of what that says occurs.

So...you trying to move the discussion to offing groundhogs.

Wow, Opossums, black snakes, lady butt bumps.  All in my areas of expertise, lol.  Most fun first.....

Lady butt bumps.. easily reduced with a warm hand making slow circular motions while whispering sweet nothings... No, wait...that's to induce butt bumps, and arm bumps, and other bumps....hmm....well, back to this one later..

Ok, black snake..welcome the black snake.. hold him in reverence...he will keep the copper heads that have been eyeing you away.

Opossums.... I get them coming in the cat door, along with racoons, and stray cats....and maybe even tiny big feets...not sure about that one.  Anyway, bb guns are great deterrents, no blood, not much pain, just enough irritation to  send them packing. After they have left the house, or before, depending on if you live alone, or have someone with refined tastes living with you like CR..lighting off a pack of firecrackers always has the effect of setting the lesson firmly in place.  Repetition always trains animals.  After getting thumped a few times they go away.  Careful though, as I had my car parked outside the house lined up with the cat hole, and I spidered my wind shield getting rid of a yearling raccoon  a few years back, lol.   Then there was the time I had a mouse in my washing machine.  I stuck the pellet gun under the lid and fired.  The pellet wanged around inside and came back out and hit me in the forehead.  I won't do that again.  That was the second time I had that happen.  Repetition is the key to these things.

If you want to take the time, every cat has food it won't eat...find yours, apply hot pepper, no more possum.  Again, may require repetition....and if the offending critter likes the pepper, then peppered critter with most anything is tasty.  T

I'm ready for my thunderstorms in about an hour and my severe thunderstorms Monday. Didnt realize we had a slight risk today.

First thunder and lightning of the year.

Would that really be the first thunder and lightning of the year for you down there??? That's pretty amazing considering where you are. We even had some pretty good storms the other night when it was in the mid 40's.
