Was that the funny map you did where Metallica is in the lava dome?

Yes - wherein that small blue section seems to be sheltered from the super torch that is searing the SE:

[ Moving forward, this phenomenon will be known as "pulling the blue tongue".

For ColdRain - the following example is for you:

"Oy - it's epping taters in 'ere, innit?"

"What? You must be takin' the mick mate - it's ruddy peas in the pot outside. Are you pullin' a blue tongue?" ]

The writing is on the wall BIG FROSTY.  They are coming.

They are coming for your guns.  They are coming for your football.  They are coming for your banter.

The day I can no longer "banter" in a banter thread on any message board/forum, is the day I wake up in a 1970's/1980's version of the Soviet Union for the internet.  Red Dawn, you bast***s.

RED DAWN!

A hard freeze warning I meant. I typed it like this. Idk how the hell it came out like that.

I can explain through the word of Afroman:

I heard it was about to get cold, but then I got high

I was just sayin what I was told, but then I got high

Now I don't even know what I mean and I know why

Why?

Cause I got high

Cause I got high

Cause I got high

Ok so I was arguing with Glenn Burns on facebook about how this winter has been warmer than last winter in Atlanta and this is what he said :

We have had highs in the 30s in and 40s. The coldest average high for ATL is 51 degrees. The coldest average low is 31. We have seen many many days this winter below those numbers. We can't use the airport numbers because the thermometer is in the middle of the runways. You should see the temperature spike when the jets take off in the morning. We have to look at the official NWS weather stations across north Georgia. This winter has been much cooler than last winter...I assure you. You also have to remember the meteorological calendar is November through February. Even in November we saw below average temps.

I think he's partially right, it has been slightly cooler, along with wetter than last year. However, it hasn't been as cold as last year in terms of lows, but then again he said we have had many days below our average so he was right if he was only talking about the average high. The fact that tonight is going to be the coldest night so far this winter and it's Feb 1st shows were off to a late start this year. I guess my question would be is if he's right about the thermometer's location at the airport and it's willingly known to be inaccurate because of fumes from the jets of planes taking off then why don't they move it to a location at the airport where the weather data won't be affected or contaminated?

You never know when some terrorist will come into a school, expose a nipple and have to be taken out by the teacher to save the children from permanent damage to their psyche.

I really wish RAH would put together a case study about the http://www4.ncsu.edu/~nwsfo/storage/cases/maps/accum.20040227.gif'>2/26/04 Winter Storm.  I'd love to read about that one and I didn't live here then to experience it.

You missed a dandy. Thunder snow, I got 17 from that and areas where you reside cashed in with19 or so. Problem was it was late February and all gone in a few days. I need a storm like that on the front end of an artic outbreak so I can enjoy it a while longer. I would be interested to see just how many February's Greensboro has had over the last 30 years without even a trace of snow. I'd imagine you could count them on one hand and still have fingers left over.

shoot me the info on the place you bought that. I need to get one.

I'll send it over in the AM.  Going to bed with my machine still running.  Best night yet as I've finally figured out how to stop my air hose from freezing up.  12" deep on my snow board in front of the machine.  LOL

Temp is down to 23.
