I can't even handle the disco thread...discussing possible ZR in foothills for several pages? Please wake me up when we have a real threat. Never knew so many liked minimal ice threats.

Created new thread.

I know most hate twister data maps, but 0z GFS went from a speck in the mountains to this. Combine with ice/sleet threat makes it thread worthy for Friday morning commute.

I think someone here (preferably a met) should create a meteorology boot camp for the 18 and under ground. Maybe from mid June to early August. Then reap in the benefits. Any type of day care thingy will bring profit. Maybe even have a bus to travel occasionally. Preferably near a lake and stuff so its not so boring, and closer to the mountains to actually see more numerous storm chances etc.

That is my million dollar idea for tonight.

What do you think?

I tell you why we never see any big winter storms in the south anymore.... this board is always fighting amongst each other lately. I remember a few years back noone bickered and complained as much as they do now. Sure people were upset with storm fails and with little winter weather but now people fight with mets.... mets ban themselves.. everyone bashes wilkes.. wilkes loves it and just keeps adding fuel to the fire of his critics etc.. geez guys

I really don't see what's wrong with having a separate thread for the ice potential on Friday.  We have a whole subforum to use here, after all.  The talk about the ice potential was intermingling with the discussion regarding the LR wintry potential.  Why shouldn't there be two topics so there is less clutter?  If we're going to just have one superthread, then we might as well go back to the way things used to be before subforums came into existence on this site.

But that's just my opinion.  I don't really care too much either way.  Truth be told, I kind of miss the superthread days.

The few epic winters to straight nothing is the problem for most IMHO.

I don't mind the hate...if you are not being hated then you are probably not being successful or putting yourself out there. Business models fail that if they do not handle the hate well. JB makes a great profit and is hated daily.

Van Denton also handles haters well. He exposes them on FB and moves on. Makes good money too.

I dont think anybody hates you and dont believe anybody thinks anybody is a success by reading a model. A true successful met is one that can make a call without the models showing it. Anybody can read what a model shows. There are some that weather is hobby and are successful just look at the studies from Gawx. He has been more accurate than anybody

They dont beat "The Pit" in Raleigh.

I've never been to The Pit to compare. However, it sure is better than Allen & son and A&M ever was.

They really do do a great job. I've never been a huge fan of their brisket though.

Indeed. the brisket is awesome. I live just a block or two over from them and am glad i cannot smell the pit like i used to near A&M.

The AMWX weather conferences were great for learning about the weather from some of the hardest hitters in the industry.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts right off the conveyor belt might be the best doughnut ever. Maybe Brit's at Carolina Beach....it's close. But man, this is some good stuff!

Mountain Dew yesterday, Krispy Kreme today, I'm worried about your sugar intake so early in the morning.I don't think you are setting a good example for the young people on this forum. I myself like to start off my day with a nice veggie juice blend, a touch of Old Bay seasoning around the rim and a pickle for garnish. Presentation is everything.............. add vodka and stir.

Does anyone else think we should have two banter threads?

-One for weather related banter, fantasy snow maps. wishcasting, IMBY questions, weather history, webcasting, met discussions, etc...

-and another non-weather related banter thread for all of the sports, food, music, etc...

Well in the boards defense really all non weather related banter should go in off topic....they just let it slide because these two past winters have kind of sucked.

Is it really that confusing as it stands right now?  One serious thread, one light hearted thread.  I certainly don't mind seeing Dacula's aviation posts in the pattern thread.  I also don't mind sports/food being up in my banter.  Very little time is wasted reading through these threads, at least for me.  Not seeing the big deal personally.

I just have no clue what those last two posts he made had to do with our weather and future weather patterns. It's one thing if it's for a storm that will affect the east coast but it seems those updates only had to do with the storm in the midwest.

No, it's not confusing.  I do think that there are some good weather related banter posts that I like to read.  I don't care for the non-weather banter myself.  I guess I was being a little selfish.  Just thinking out loud I guess.
