Just so we don't go down a dark path here discussing climate change, here is my way of looking at things to keep sane.

Climate change IS real and it is just that-a changing and evolving global climate. Pure science.

The political part of that is "Global Warming is caused by the human race."

Whichever side of that fence you want to ride is yours to choose, but for us to be so arrogant to think we KNOW the who, what, whens, wheres and whys of mother nature is dangerous ground.

Nebraska might get their entire season of snow in the next 2 weeks. About to get destroyed by this winter and then another by next Monday. I like these extreme and active patterns. Hopefully we get one superstorm out of all this over the next 2-3 weeks. Nebraska deserves it as they haven't had any action this winter. This should also help the drought there.

Pure science is not political, arrogant, or dangerous.  It's simply making sense of the world around us based on available evidence.  If that evidence happens to show who, what, when, where, and why, then so be it.

I have visited there before and that is a very scary and angry place to be even if you are only reading.

Stovepipe, I think you misunderstand my point.

Possibly.  My point was this:  Warming due to human influence doesn't have to be political if good (pure) science shows it to be true.  Also explaining the ways of mother nature doesn't have to be arrogant or dangerous ground if good science explains it.

Now, it is debatable whether the science being done is "good science".  Objectivity in such things is necessary.  When people bring emotions into it all sorts of hell breaks loose.  Sort of like pattern threads on this forum.
