jburns
The winter of 2010-2011 gets a A-. The only real significant events came in December with a pair of events in early- to mid-February and then, of course, the 6" from the Christmas Day Storm. I saw snow fly many more times over the rest of the winter, but nothing really significant came of it. The fact that I finally got to see a White Christmas pretty much guaranteed that it would get an A! Ugh. Every time someone mentions that 2010 Christmas storm I have to grit my teeth. No white Christmas here. I'm only a few miles south of you and got basically nothing. It rained with a few flakes mixed in all Christmas day. Changed over after dark Christmas and left a glorified dusting the next morning.
JoshM
Blended the NAM and 1-2 other short term models too...GFS always throws precip up to Wilkes/Surry but I have to go over and beyond to discount it if the short range models don't agree. Lots of hard work and decisions to sweat over. Quote from Rocko's Modern Life *looks at Wilkes* "Hey, I thought I strapped you to the bed!"
