here in Buncombe County we had some flakes a couple of times today and that was it and that's about all we've had this year in west asheville.  very sad

Just had a snow shower that was really intense, Lasted about 10 or 15 minutes. Whitened the cars, the ground, and the roof.... and poof, it was done. But, pretty cool for a little bit.

Lmao. This guy here.

Someone always says this is the heaviest snow I have ever seen with every storm that produces snow.

This was the heaviest daytime snow I've seen in many years.  It was definitely the heaviest daytime snow since I moved back here in 2007.  Of course, that probably has more to do with the fact that we haven't really gotten any significant snow during the daylight hours since at least 2007 around here!  :lmao:

I love that intense band the RUC showed would be rotating through the Triad about now.  I think I saw 2 clouds as the sun was setting, maybe that was it?

Yeah, that was a failure...  Oh, well.

I'm so glad this is a board based on science and not prone to the hyperbole of all those other so called weather boards.  Here we stick to precise standardized measurements especially when it comes to our real passion - snow.  Here are a few examples from just the past few hours.  Names and location have been redacted to protect the.........innocent.

Still snowing like gangbusters in XXX.

Snowing good in XXXXXXX.

 hugh flakes

snow falling pretty hard now

 unreal rates.

Crazy heavy snow right now!

chicken feather snow flakes.

 Still hammering.

These are insane rates.

Wow crazy blowing snow here with big flakes.

Really coming down here

Unbelievable rates here

Oh boy,it's ripping now with big flakes.

can't wait until it arrives...rates should be insane.

Accumulation accelerating

If we get bigger flakes with the rates I have right now I am gonna die.

Science is a wonderful thing.

So what?

You've never contributed anything scientific to a weather board either.

LOL. You forgot:

Monstrous, destructive flakes, obliterating everything in sight. :D

My morale is at rock bottom after seeing 8 hours of snowfall only to see nothing on the ground from it.

That can't be rock bottom. If it was snowing everywhere in every direction around you and accumulating rapidly, while the sun was out at your house, that seems like it would be a worse situation than seeing beautiful snow fall for 8 hours.
