I had a long response typed up with images but firefox crashed when loading some skew-T's off earl's site.

Basically he's talking about it coming. The image he posted he did so to demonstrate the damming signature at 850mb, not necessarily any ice occurring in that pic, yet. He thinks it could be underdone or strong at lower levels so he figures its a huge ice storm...I think he mentions GA? Majority would be for spine of the apps in WVA/VA into central VA, part of his audience. But anyway, definitely an ice storm at hour 183 or so in VA per soundings in Charlottesville, down to Roanoke, etc.

Yep, count this one up.  We wait three years for a biggie, and it's an ice storm :)  That's the way they do us in Ga.  Make you wait and wait, and then it's zrain.  But every once in a while they give you a blizzard or some outher outlandish solution that comes true.  Oh, well, I embrace an ice storm...I've got a generator, and the trees need stripping bad.  It's just to dangerous to walk in the woods any more.  Widowmakers falling all the time now....all you hear is a hisssss, and thwap, and a potential killer is a few feet away.  The pine beetles have made a zmonster an imperative now.  T

Envious of you all! I need to move farther south haha. My trees are as brown as can be. I am trying to track the line of where they are starting to bud. Looks like it is still in central North Carolina. I am guessing in a week or two it will be about the VA/NC border.

Thanks guys !

Interesting study!   I figure they've been budding here since  before the first of Feb...and few anyway.  But I noticed it big last week.  It looked like a month or more early at a friends last week.  I have a bad feeling about this kind of doing :)  It's just screaming for a  hard, bud shriveling freeze.  Tony

I've been thinking for a few runs now this could be an event for central and south Ga. if it gets cold enough.   Metalman better see to his sled.  Oh, yeahhh.... they don't have hills down there in python paradise, do they :)  And those big cold bloods like to come in out of the cold, and snow.  Rest their scales by the fire, munch on some Metal toes, lol.  T

This is why you dont lock a thread becuase you're butthurt or frustrated.

We haven't seen hide nor hair of the troublemaker "Dude" since he got a spanking from the mods. Must be trolling in the MA and causing trouble there. Speaking of the MA forum I skipped over there last night for a bit myself and determined we are bigger weenies on the SE forum because we produce more pages for an event possibility than they do.LOL

The fact is that there is a ton of energy and very subtle changes in strength, track, orientation (of which precise interaction may not be known until the thing is unfolding) will make all the difference here.

This is such a dynamic and volatile situation, there are a lot of options still on the table. I would lean toward a less significant event, but like RAH pointed out last night, there is gasoline and there is a match, and they are really not all that far apart.
