Kind of suprised Upton hasn't put up advisories for atleast Long Island, they are forecast to get close to 3" which while not advisory criteria is the largest snow in some time, and the fact that snow this winter has been nonexistant, some people might need to be reminded of the caution that must be taken when driving in the stuff. Wouldn't be suprised to see advisories go up for long island, and possibly fairfield county, though doubt it(they have 2" for us) after 0z NAM if it holds from 12 and 18.

Congrats PVC, per the NAM

Bob, little convergence/trough pretty evident on the NAM.

Looks like about 12-15 hours of snow along with it and some onshore flow up through about 8h.  By later Sunday as the NE winds increase up through 8h would probably snow pretty good, but we'll see.  Looking closer at the RGEM particularly at 18z that's what it was doing with the successive periods of measurable as well right on the coast.

Having a hunch the D-1" may bust low.

EDIT on a side note the much talked about comma head appears to miss by about 700 miles to the east.   Safe distance.
