Bostonseminole
I'll take what I can take for snow, but it still sucks and those that keep saying they are happy with 1-3" of snow are full of it. Using IPad or IPhone or BB so my grammar may suck. Well I think Will and I are those and yea that works for me, look at Chris's picture, looks like winter with 1-3 OTG, sleds work and its refreshing. sure its nice if we've had a few 8-10" storms but for this to be all we get, sucks. Using IPad or IPhone or BB so my grammar may suck.
Baroclinic Zone
You take what you can get, but I can't buy anything greater than 4" and even my 4" storm was bootleg with almost half of it melted. Just too bad. I think it was like 4 or 5" for me as well on the late December system. Pitiful 2 seasons and this one is better than last.

mahk_webstah
They're probably wrong and using older guidance. Silly to hang your hat on forecasters not cognizant of ur unique environment becaus enter don't reside here or really understand our climo as well as our locals. Respectfully disagree for the most part. Yes on climo, I agree with you in certain micro events. But they issued at 2am. I find they often do meteorology not modelology for example in late Dec when many models were showing cutters they stayed with a coastal storm (one of the late Dec storms). When there is a threat they mention it. The biggest reason I have been cautious and holding back the last couple of weeks is that HPC never seemed excited about anything. Check out the traffic cams in my old town Dover DE this am. They are getting great clipper snow.
Baroclinic Zone
10 day euro had lots of potential. I've been shoveling potential for 670 days. Would be nice if it were snow.
Damage In Tolland
Let's try something. Don't look at any models from here on out for the Sunday event. Make a forecast based on pattern recognition, instincts, and atmospheric conditions. You doth at you get region wide 1-3 inch amounts and a wintry Superwbowlb Sunday

dryslot
What Christmas day miracle? Just checked my cocorahs data, and I recorded no snow on either 12/25 or 12/26. 12/27 was fine, a nice 7" event though the forecast was 12-18". We haven't had a minute of +SN yet this season, just light-moderate. Looked at the 06z gfs, and saw that yesterday's 0.4"-0.6" qpf for Sunday was now 0.01"-0.04". Lucy pulled the ball away one more time. Next significant precip on that run is D10, and it's rain. Right now I'm 5.2" behind last winter's snowfall and my 6" glacier (and I'm fortunate to have any) is half of what was here 2/1/12. Farmington's dogsled races were scheduled for this weekend, and unless the pups want to run thru the corn stubble, the races are either postposed or canceled. Do I sound grumpy? Well, I'm not the dwarf, but otherwise, yessir. Just hope the woods roads haven't become a disaster, though having them snow-free as the Feb sun gets higher will shorten the logging season (and thus our revenue) significantly. Baroclinic Zone
So guys....why do you think HPC has the eastern 1/2 of SNE up to the coast of NH (the real NH) in a mod prob for >4? and slight for >8? They must think this comes back stronger. They are smart over there. Possibly inverted trough BS.

Sure I'll be happy but I want a solid 6" storm at this point as Scooter alluded to that breaks right for us. I'm not even sold on the 2-3" at this point for this system for anyone except CC.
