WeatherX
Yes, That's how i gauge winter by the seat time on my sled, Last year 200 mile, This year, 200 miles, Sure i can travel into the mountains and find snow to ride on, But i gauge a decent winter from riding out my door I feel ya. We canceled our annual winter trip up there just the other day. Ma nature is a cruel b**ch, when she wants to be....
CoastalWx
Perhaps folks should do as Tip says he does, he doesn't get emotionally invested and bides the time playing intense games of disc golf with friends Yeah nothing like discussing disc golf, napes, and short dresses. CoastalWx
You take what you can get, but I can't buy anything greater than 4" and even my 4" storm was bootleg with almost half of it melted. Just too bad.

ORH_wxman
This place is like a gold mine for Dr. Phil. I woke up and read like 2 pages of whining and suicide posts....lol. I'm going to enjoy my inch of snow...hopefully it trends back better. I think some of us stated like 10 times that this threat was a low prob chance to be something a lot bigger, but keep expectations low...so that we wouldn't have to see 2 pages of thoughts of sky diving with no parachute. I guess people got expectations up anyway.

dryslot
Well its more then just this storm, It's the overall picture, The pattern has had potential and so far it has failed, That's the frustrating part, Last year was bleak from the get go so expectations were low to begin with

HoarfrostHubb
This is amusing to me... No sense getting all sad over the weather. Any weather you can experience while upright sure beats the alternative. I think I will go skiing tonight and laugh at the elements. Still 2 months of possibilities ahead. tamarack
You did enjoy the 12/27 event though, didn't you? How about the Christmas day miracle? I was fortunate enough to be up in your neighborhood for those 2.....so, you win the event of the winter contest, right there..... What Christmas day miracle? Just checked my cocorahs data, and I recorded no snow on either 12/25 or 12/26. 12/27 was fine, a nice 7" event though the forecast was 12-18". We haven't had a minute of +SN yet this season, just light-moderate. Looked at the 06z gfs, and saw that yesterday's 0.4"-0.6" qpf for Sunday was now 0.01"-0.04". Lucy pulled the ball away one more time. Next significant precip on that run is D10, and it's rain. Right now I'm 5.2" behind last winter's snowfall and my 6" glacier (and I'm fortunate to have any) is half of what was here 2/1/12. Farmington's dogsled races were scheduled for this weekend, and unless the pups want to run thru the corn stubble, the races are either postposed or canceled. Do I sound grumpy? Well, I'm not the dwarf, but otherwise, yessir. Just hope the woods roads haven't become a disaster, though having them snow-free as the Feb sun gets higher will shorten the logging season (and thus our revenue) significantly. mahk_webstah
So guys....why do you think HPC has the eastern 1/2 of SNE up to the coast of NH (the real NH) in a mod prob for >4? and slight for >8? They must think this comes back stronger. They are smart over there.

Bostonseminole
I'll take what I can take for snow, but it still sucks and those that keep saying they are happy with 1-3" of snow are full of it. Silly to hang your hat on forecasters not cognizant of ur unique environment becaus enter don't reside here or really understand our climo as well as our locals.
