HIPPYVALLEY
Is that bare ground on that trail at Stowe? Yikes The cross country touring areas are screwed unless they can get at least 6"+.
Bruinsyear
Is that bare ground on that trail at Stowe? Yikes Yet like all mountain reports they will spin it like today is the best day of skiing ever. I always get a laugh reading Sunday River's reports when conditions are awful. I guess you gotta market it not matter.
moneypitmike
New high gust recorded here--39mph. Had a small branch just bounce off the roof--the sound was loud enough that I thought it was bigger..

Baroclinic Zone
All hell just broke loose here. Winds went from minimal to all out just about gale force winds in a matter of seconds. Eery look to the clouds too. That was awesome!

butterfish55
Yet like all mountain reports they will spin it like today is the best day of skiing ever. I always get a laugh reading Sunday River's reports when conditions are awful. I guess you gotta market it not matter. Back around '00-'01 I was the "snow reporter" at Jackson Hole mountain resort out in WY. I did the website, radio recordings, and wrote a daily bit about conditions. It's definitely all about making people want to be on your mountain no matter what. Although, the job was easy...we never had to worry about bare patches until may or June. ryanjn
KLWM to 53mph. That was pretty hectic for awhile out there. Probably three or four solid rounds of 40+ gusts over the 10 minutes it was windy. Rather quite post front now.
Bryan
Winds have been nuts here since about 7 o'clock last night and haven't let up since. Power went out sometime after 3am, probably when the front came through, haven't been out but just from looking out my window a lot of small trees came down.
