OceanStWx
Scoots..how storng will CAA winds be today? maybe gusts to 50? It looks like a little latitude will help, as the core of the strongest CAA winds will be closer to the low. Still looks like gusts to 50 down your way. PWMan
Don't sleep on it yet, front has about an hour to pass your area. Up until then you could rip off a good southerly gust.Thanks. I'm done sleeping either way!Quick glimpse outside - wow. Snowpack being annihilated as expected.

Ginx snewx
Great winds this AM, power on here and at work. Gust to 55 but the howling above tree level was best, no wonder Tolland and MQE had higher winds. 58-60 elsewhere is a pretty common winter wind but above 70 is special

HIPPYVALLEY
I'm up on the hill in Arlington this morning and some of these gusts have to be 50+. House shaking, roaring wind. It's a treat for me be cause we don't get these kind of winds in Greenfield except in the rare severe event.
CapturedNature
Does everyone else's town DPW do this on FB?Great stuff Tolland Works FYI We are out assessing the roads there are power lines down with trees across in wires Unfortunately CL&P got called to emergency calls priority ones which takes their crew out of tolland Stafford does that but doesn't promote someone elses commercial endeavor with tax dollars or force people to sign-up with a service that doesn't have to follow basic privacy laws. Power went out here about 0430. Looks like I had some gusts over 45, but they may have been higher. My anemometer is not the best. No trees or branches down from what I can tell. CL&P says restoration within 3 hours. We'll see how that goes.

Sugarloaf1989
Zero damage here and the power never even flickered. Some high winds overnight to be sure and right now a river runs through my backyard from flooding rains.

The one exception is for my little road for reasons unbeknownst to all. Though, I guess poeple can access over their phones

moneypitmike
Looks like some type of line just east of Albany. Perhaps that will bring some gusts with it. Temp continuing to dip down here to 50.9/50. The still warm temps and light rains may yet do in the remaining snow cover. Regardless, once you have patches, you're essentially starting over anyway. Too bad that so far the most memorable part of the 2012-13 winter for many people have been winds with 60* temps, ftl.
Sugarloaf1989
My son just went off to school, so all must be normal down in town. Both of my garbage cans got knocked over, but everthing else outside is fine, there is no tree damage.
moneypitmike
Your road probably has wealthy people on it..(like you) Ummmmmm--I wish I was wealthy!
