Down to -SN now. Got a little slush on my windshield.

I can't believe Skilling is still showing a solid area of light snow moving through later.

That developing stuff out in E. Iowa isn't just going to disappear. It'll swing through later and give you your expected 1 inch or so..

About 5.5 inches here now.  Tons of blowing when I was out doing driveways.  Snow has let up quite a bit.

Spotter 2 miles west of CR reported 6.5" a little after 11.  Was that you?  IIRC you were a few miles west of town.

Last blob of snow about to rotate through here.  Might be enough to give us a token inch afterall.

Yet another fail of EPIC proportions. Hoping for a turnaround in February--a BACKloaded winter if you will--is a reach at this point. Packing it in. Whatever fell in our brief burst soaked right into the sponge that is our ground.

Now Im more curious as to where on "least snow" and "warmest" this one will fall.

Time for me to defend the GREG for today in regards to Northern IL

Precipitation at 15z:

If you can follow the 540 line it goes right into North Central IL.  I don't know if Northern IL got this precip or not, but there wasn't much snow involved

Here is precipitation type at the same time.

now fast forward to 18z:

although the snow is coming a bit late, it is on its way.
