IsentropicLift
And you can add the new 12z NAM as well to the drying trend for NYC/LI. .49" of total precip to match the euro and srefs almost to the exact amounts. The new NAM continues the trend of weakening the squall line right as it gets into eastern PA. Still going to be a heavy rain/gusty wind event. IsentropicLift
It will be nice to get a couple hour burst of heavy rain in here to wash away what is left of the snow up this way. The grass is pretty much bare so it's just piles from where it was plowed. Looks like us NW folks will get in on about twice as much rain as the city per this NAM run. Stormlover74
Yeah I think today and this evening will be largely dry and all the rain will come in in one batch. Whether its a half inch or an inch probably won't make much of a difference

Guest Patrick
any idea what the other the years were? would be interesting to see if there were any good analogs in there, and what feb/march looked like around here....though it hardly counts as a valid sample. lol For just the fourth time in the 126 years that the National Weather Service has records, Corpus Christi has reached 90 degrees in January. IsentropicLift
You need to stay awake until 1am-7am to see it. I'll probably hear it pounding against the window and my deck. earthlight
The warm front is pushing north through Central New Jersey. go.cgi.gif Seems right on schedule so far. The RAP and NAM both have the big temperature surge around 18-21z throughout New Jersey. At that time it appears the NAM has some clearing which probably allows the area near EWR to spike to near 70. Looks like it's pushing into Mercer/Southern Middlesex Co's now.
Stormlover74
Does it seem odd that some areas are still in a high wind watch less than 7 hours from the start of the event? I mean I'd think at this point either upgrade us to a warning or issue an advisory

96blizz
Wild weather here. Temps rising rapidly up to 56 but the fog just won't let go here in the sticks of NJ. Walked near the lake in my neighborhood and the warm wind was being cooled by the ice that is still frozen over --- allowing fog to rapidly blow across the ice. Into the wind facing the lake was chilly, but once you got away from the water, way warmer. Cool.
