PWMan
This whole system is NBD, 1 or 2" of snow with a little frdz at the end is pretty meh The way this winter has been, I'd be semi-interested if it weren't for the torch that will probably last just long enough to wipe out whatever new stuff falls. Factor that in, and this is the definition of a nuisance event.

dryslot
Well, If it was going to stick around and we were going to build on it on weds-thurs would be one thing, But when your going to be looking at mostly bare ground after thurs and it has been as bad a year as last year so far, There is really not much more to say other then what some have already said here, Hopefully the next 2-3 weeks pan out The way this winter has been, I'd be semi-interested if it weren't for the torch that will probably last just long enough to wipe out whatever new stuff falls. Factor that in, and this is the definition of a nuisance event. You just had to read down a little further......lol, We are basically on the same page with this one................ Ginx snewx
Not only is there that low that develops SE of the Cape but there's actually a sfc high of like 1022mb that builds into NNE overnight tonight to assist the cold tuck even further. I'm wondering if the good CAD spots in N ORH county and up into Monads and E slopes GC don't even make it above freezing tomorrow. Guess it depends on how quickly the winds can flip south and then mix out the inversion....typically that takes longer than models prog. One thing about this setup today tonight is the really negligible winds, could be some nasty ice interior, although not a lot of precip shown I could see that low level sheet drizzle kind of icing. snowman21
flakes are few and far between and they are tiny, can barely see them, super meh. Yeah, and temps are shooting up pretty fast along the shore surprise surprise. This was never going to be a big deal for us anyway.

Ginx snewx
yeah i sent that same pic out yesterday. pretty neat. Should be interesting with heavy south winds and rough seas then a rapid refreeze this weekend. The continued cold snap like 04 should make for some cool coastal ice pics. CapturedNature
Made this I was asking about that in the other thread. I was wondering when/if we would see sea ice. I suppose if the next round is as potent that we might see more. The ice on the CT River in Springfield is starting to build north of the bridges. Too bad we have this warm-up coming! They took a brutal $ beating that last really cold year when we had ice around the canal...I think it was 03 or 04. Ever since they pull all the gear regardless...just too much $ at risk as you said. amarshall
Marshall tweeted a pic yesterday of the Oyster farmers ice breaking, that was cool I have tons more I didn't tweet. These are from my oyster growers in West Bay Osterville who had to use a tugboat last week to break the ice on the south side. Scudder Lane, Barnstable on the CC Bay side. We have to get all of our gear out of the water before the ice hits or we find it two miles away in the spring

wxmanmitch
A few flurries beginning to reach the ground here in Berkshire County. I'm not expecting much more than an inch from this, maybe two if I'm lucky. My guess is I change over around 5-6 PM.
