Geos
-2.1° IMBY this morning. The little bit of snow helped the drop last night and is keeping the temperatures around +6° right now.

turtlehurricane
-6 F last night in Madison, kinda meh considering the fresh snow cover, we had lows like that with no snowcover during the last cold spell. Up to a balmy 0 F now.

Powerball
Even a 20" February wouldn't be enough to redeem the winter as a whole. I'd enjoy it very much, but it would't change a bad winter into a good one. It would take something exceptional like a Feb 2008 here (I'm thinking Feb 2010(?) is a good example for you) to do that. Even considering the GHD screw job, I'd take a 2011 type of February any time. We had two surprise snowstorms that month, one dumped 4-6" (the one that the models never catched on to following the GHD Blizard, when nothing was expected as of the prior night) and the President's Day Storm that dumped a surprise 8-10", which was looking like a massive ice storm not even 24 hours earlier. And although this winter is/was still bad, it is/was a marked improvement from last year's disaster. I don't think we had any LES events last season like yesterday, and we sure didn't have a 6"+ snowstorm.

Ottawa Blizzard
Well LC has the euro weeklies on his side. Atleast for Feb anyways. Shows some decent torching in week 2 and week 4. All of the cold swings back over to Russia with the torch ( above normal temps ) taking over Canada from week 2 onward. Roger Smith may yet be vindicated. March 1930 redux? cyclone77
-3 here this morning for the coldest of the season. Was the 2nd and most likely last subzero temp of the winter. Still about a half inch of snow on the ground.

frostfern
Got a nice snowfall last night! Best this year! Haven't measured yet but it looks like at least 6". Very gentle pristine dendrite snow. No wind. Stuck to all the tree branches.
frostfern
Just measured. 10" snow depth IMBY. It was 3.5" yesterday evening. Pure feather-flake stuff, probably 25:1 ratio. Might be able to add another inch before it's all said and done with light snow and flurries continuing through early afternoon.
