Not surprised at all.... The natural storm track always seems to cause deformations to take place over the saginaw valley for some reason... Chicago seems to avoid this fate. I only saw 10 inch or greater storms less than a half a dozen times in my life.

The 10.3" on Feb 1-2 2011 were 2 different storms? Should not count.

quiet morning, light winds and seasonably cool. Lake snow in the process of shifting offshore. Picked up what looks like 2-3" since dark. hoping to see a ray or 2 of sun later and some blue sky would really serve me well.

snow depth 21"

Our snow depth would be awesome like yours if we didn't keep getting these rainstorms right after our nice snowfalls.

7 hour break per KDTW obs on Wunderground's almanac page.

I do remember DTX not counting that first wave in the morning on their storm totals list...which with all due respect I think is absolutely RIDICULOUS. Especially since all other areas counted it as part of the storm. As it is you look at any other cities biggest snowstorms list and you will see multiple storms that have a span of 3-4 days (I remember a few Ive seen that lasted like a week LOL), and no, that does not mean it was snowing for 96 hours straight. Detroits biggest storm list are ALL 1 or 2 days. How ridiculous would it be to actually not count Feb 1 (6.3") and Feb 2 (4.0") of 2011 as one storm. ok, so GHD dropped 9.0" and the mornings 1.3" just doesnt count :lmao: Only in SE MI do we try to downgrade any storm as much as possible .

Not quite a 7 hour break

Anyway, one of my favorite months

9 straight months featuring below normal normal snowfall (excluding the months that don't average snow). I say this is the end of the line.

15.5" for Feb 2013 imby.

what the hell. Negativity doesn't work. Let's try something else.

Hey, it worked!

Wasn't bullish enough. 17" for the month and it's only the 16th. :snowman:

Quite the plot twist with this winter here in Toronto.
