Geos
-2° at Sparta now. -6° near Wisconsin Rapids. Clearing line is quickly approaching now, down to 18° at BUU. Edit: Posted some pictures here > http://www.americanwx.com/bb/index.php/topic/39210-wintry-scenes-along-western-shore-of-lake-michigan/ from my walk down by the lake today. Little Traverse Bay froze completely over in 3 days and I notice ice is rapidly expanding along the shore. dark blue basically all ice

michsnowfreak
Nice pics Geos. My favorite kind of day, steel gray skies and white snow. Although, the sunshine this morning does look good with the blanket of snow, but the clouds will soon return.
wisconsinwx
Already up to 30 downtown...going to be an overperformer What a contrast to single digits in SE Wisconsin much of this morning. I smell a slight underperformer here.

michsnowfreak
looking around, it has to be bogus, MDW only 21 Either way, 34-35 sounds about right. ORD 16. If you are going by bank clock, sun must be hitting it.
A-L-E-K
ORD 16. If you are going by bank clock, sun must be hitting it. It's normally pretty close to what MDW is showing and is on a block that is in perpetual shade...must just be busted or frozen on a reading from yesterday

daddylonglegs
Went from 30F yesterday down to -7F this morning...in the single digits now... Looks like upper 20Fs should be the order of the day... Snow totals less then an inch here today/tonite... Geos- Nice pics...Not much open water around here, except a few spots on the river (current keeps it open)... There is one area by my house where a slough runs and for some reason rarely freezes over...there is current there, but it isn't that strong (or it seems) and is not deep (maybe 8ft at most)... Weekend system looks like rain here.

Hoosier
In awe of what's about to unfold in New England. It's basically like GHD for the Midwest but with even more snow. Took a quick peek and soundings would support some gusts around 60-70 mph at BOS, probably even higher right on the water.

Geos
31° here after a low of 7°. I can see the approaching clouds on the NW horizon moving into the area. Yesterday it was amazing how calm Lake Michigan was. There were only little ripples on the lake, something you don't see very often. I think the Loons that were in the water were creating more wave action then the light breeze!
