aldie 22
I peed myself due to fright Too bad we had no cape I will say this...i don't recall many times in summer or whenever that we get 1.50"+ out here...impressive rainstorm for sure
Ellinwood
Is everyone ok? We will rebuild! The "storms" certainly didn't bring the more widespread strong to severe winds I thought they were going to have, but there were some spotty gusts of 40-50 mph in the region. NoVA's got a handful of wind damage reports at the moment. Certainly a bust IMBY. Oh well... it happens.
Ellinwood
Keeping an eye on the southern storm that's in southern MD... has had a weak rotation/hook with it for a little bit. Will probably end up the same as the others.

Big moisture. Now for "how much if it was snow" questions.

If we had instability the story could have been much different,
Ellinwood
Less wrong than NWS. Less right than me. Meh. I'd rather hedge a little more on the aggressive side in these conditional setups where just a little energy will go a long way. RIC_WX
I will say this...i don't recall many times in summer or whenever that we get 1.50"+ out here...impressive rainstorm for sure Heaviest precip event since Sandy. I suppose this is enough to bring us close to normal or slightly above for the month in precip. Really had all kinds of wx in the past week here...cold, mild and now wet. Maybe it will snow in March. TUweathermanDD
not sure this was really a bust... strong winds above the ground dont necessarily mean big event Correct, especially without a great mixing mechanism. We have fast low levels a lot and that hasn't always meant a big wind episode. Some nice rains overall though. Now to track the 1" snow potential for Friday.
