... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 830 PM EST
for the Baltimore City... the city of Alexandria... the city of
Fairfax... the city of Falls Church... Fairfax... Howard... Anne
Arundel... Prince Georges... Stafford... Prince William... Baltimore...
Arlington... Charles and Montgomery counties and the District of
Columbia...

At 751 PM EST... severe thunderstorms were detected along a line
extending from Fallstaff to Columbia to Chevy Chase to Lake Ridge to
Montclair... and were moving northeast at 40 mph.

These storms are capable of producing damaging winds in excess of 60
mph.

Locations impacted include...
Newington...
Franconia...
Lorton...
Rock Creek...
Fairland...
Calverton...
Columbia...
Indian Head...
Savage...
Mason Neck...
University Park...
Union Square...
Baltimore...
National Harbor...
Locust Point...
Linthicum Heigh

The "storms" certainly didn't bring the more widespread strong to severe winds I thought they were going to have, but there were some spotty gusts of 40-50 mph in the region. NoVA's got a handful of wind damage reports at the moment. Certainly a bust IMBY. Oh well... it happens.

I will say this...i don't recall many times in summer or whenever that we get 1.50"+ out here...impressive rainstorm for sure

Yeah that first line coming in then stalling and backing up really racked up the totals. Big moisture. Now for "how much if it was snow" questions. :P
