Looking at ASOS out of York. They reported 4 and 1 degrees the last two hours respectively, but this hour they shot back up to 10. Does anyone know why?

That place is notorious for being an extreme radiator, worse than SMQ, its on par with some of our airports out here in the empty, frozen desert.  Looking at the obs, you can see the clouds broke up after 7PM, when they dropped 10 degrees between 7PM and 8PM.  They fell down to 1 by 821PM but the clouds were moving back in.  By 9PM they were cloudy again and still 1, but by 10PM they were still cloudy and had rebounded back to 10.

Yeah, I knew they radiated well out there, but that's still pretty impressive.

Everybody,

Thank-you, looks like the aggregate average snow water equivalent ratio was in the lower 20s. That Caribou snow tool worked well. Mark was in this evening and he suspected we would have had 30:1 everywhere without the wind.  Love the pic Andy. (See our FB).

You guys did superb with this event. Nailed my hourly weather forecast QPF of .06 down to the exact one hundredth.

Yeah that was a bit higher than I thought...  Hell that's better than most of the ratios we've had, and we've been way colder than you guys ;)
