Here's why it's "crappy"...

"The radar is also limited close in by its inability to scan directly overhead. Therefore, close to the radar, data are not available due to the radar's maximum tilt elevation of 19.5°. This area is commonly referred to as the radar's "Cone of Silence".

Plus it can never get over Bull Run Mountain to show us what's going on southwest of me. Literally the worst thing in the world.

Dusting in West End Alexandria, near 495/395 interchanges at Cameron Station on Duke. Light snow, but brisk. Been going for about 30-45 minutes so far. Already dusted the sidewalks, asphalt and car tops. I uploaded a few photos into a Flickr set here:
