Indystorm
Those current returns on LOT's radar are really something to see. But again I have to remind myself that this is probably the first experience we've had of sleet/zr with dual pol examining both the vertical and horizontal layers. huronicane
So far today, I've had light-moderate freezing rain, a little bit of sleet, and currently snow flurries.
Thundersnow12
pretty nice looking band on that run...we'll see if it holds GEM and GFS have it here. Euro and NAM don't.
turtlehurricane
Big snowflakes pouring down, 35+ dBZ reflectivity overhead. Looks like almost all snow, temperature has dropped to 27.5 F on top of the meteorology building. Driving conditions about to get treacherous quickly. cyclone77
Freezing rain has been moderate at times the last hour or so. Probably around a tenth of glaze so far. Temp slowly inching upward. Up to 30.7 now. If temps were a few degrees colder we'd probably be in real trouble with heavier rains continuing to train over the area.
Chitown Storm
starting to sleet and FZ rain so hard against the window my dog keeps looking at me like WTF is going on? Occasional snowflakes the size of quarters

gosaints
Roads are horrible switched back to snow but damage is already done. Looks like only couple hours of good stiff left. Then some drizzle I would guess
A-L-E-K
DP in the 20s though. I get it...but surfaces aren't that cold and with temps on the rise ice accretion will be minimal if any.

daddylonglegs
Went out ice fishing for awhile.. Started as some sort of freezing rain, went to snow for a little while (or sleet)...then it was straight rain for quite awhile, now it switched back to the heaviest sleet/snow yet... Roads are so so... I saw one car all smashed up in some rocks. Fishing was very cold/wet...
Powerball
The convective snow/ice over IL/WI is actually a good thing. Those huge flake forming at 500mb will help to drag down some of the colder air aloft to the surface, which will delay the warming of the column. Good trends for us upstream. BTW, the RAP is trending colder for this evening.
turtlehurricane
Temperature down to 26.5 F. 30-35 dBZ over us currently, 40-55 dBZ band approaching. Must be some wild stuff in there, probably golfball sized rimed snowflakes mixed with sleet and a little freezing rain. Roads covered.
