usedtobe
Are you doing a CWG write up on the storm today?. Yes I am and have, I'll post it when Jason posts it. I have three scenarios and favor one of the three over the other two.

aldie 22
SBY does well with total qpf of .33" Just sounds like the good qpf went South on this run. Not really screwed by a coastal jump or anything...sounds like we may be screwed by the super cold air.

I-83 BLIZZARD
This is going to go south of us again and I'm going to jump off of the Bag Bridge Is the BAG BRIDGE really high? I would wait until a real event fails inside 72 before I would jump. Losing out on a flizzard ain't worth it. Besides you would miss the 1-3 on Friday which is a MECS by recent standards. Heisy
NAM has a more robust shortwave entering the U.S....I know extrapolating is against the rules, but I have a feeling this is going to come in pretty nicely.

Bob Chill
I think the sw is the same it's just slower. Run the 12z loop side by side.
WinterWxLuvr
I think the sw is the same it's just slower. Run the 12z loop side by side. Theoretically, wouldn't slower be better?
Bob Chill
Theoretically, wouldn't slower be better? Hard to say. It's all about amplification. However, the nam is showing 2 distinct vorts. One just north of MT and another in norcal. This is probably a good thing. could be a great thing. Edit to add visual. Same point in time vs 12z:

Bob Chill
Can I get your reasoning on that bob? Depends what the more s vort does downstream. We really need waa precip to break out. anything that takes away some of the ns dominance is a good thing. unless it's too good and it's congrats nc. lol

usedtobe
wrong thread....sorry wes, coundn't resist..lol I thinkt he vort over NV is interesting and might be a good thing if the clipper doesn't turn the flow northwesterly too much and make it hard to back the flow. The NV vort would argue for a little stronger southern stream low providing the NAM is not out to lunch.

usedtobe
About Friday's shortwave. One bad think on the NAm is there is little ridging behind the vort to help it amplify which makes me think it probably won't be that great later in the run.
