Here is the zone area forecast for Manhattan from the NWS valid 9:25am 1/21/13.  Lets see how they do over the course of the week.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy. A chance of snow showers...mainly in the evening. Brisk with lows in the lower 20s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph...becoming northwest 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph after midnight. Chance of snow 50 percent.

Tuesday: Partly sunny with a slight chance of flurries. Windy with highs in the upper 20s. Northwest winds 15 to 25 mph.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows around 15. West winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph.

Wednesday: Partly sunny. A slight chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Cold with highs in the mid 20s. West winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of snow 20 percent.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy. Lows around 15.

Thursday: Partly sunny. Highs in the upper 20s.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy. A chance of snow after midnight. Lows in the lower 20s. Chance of snow 30 percent.

Friday: Cloudy. A chance of snow in the morning...then a chance of snow and rain in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 30s. Chance of precipitation 50 percent.

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of snow. Lows in the lower 20s.

Saturday: Partly sunny. Highs in the upper 20s.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy. Lows 15 to 20.

Sunday: Mostly sunny. Highs around 30.

They have tuesday and thursday in the upper 20s with only wednesday in the mid 20s.

NWS is going to be way too warm but that's typical with their bias.

 

They had a high of 35F here today...it's actually 28.8/15 right now. I've slipped from a high of 29.1F. Once again, another warm-biased forecast. Already busting on the first day of the outbreak. 

It's 33F here and the forecast high was mid 30s, so.... what?
