EastBayWx
26.1F, 1" new, almost moderate intensity, 1" in 2hours. Haven't seen powder in a longtime here at the coast. Every storm the past two seasons, which hasn't been many, has been a shellac'ing of 32.8F paste.
ChrisM
hmmm, radar looks to be blowing up a bit in W CT. Overperformer incoming.
ChrisM
Nice weenie band extending along 84 from NY state thru DXR and Northeast yeah too bad we're getting suckerholed right now with nearly 0 echoes overhead. It's probably gonna rip in a bit at my house.

powderfreak
Love when they switch modes on the radar... But that more moderate stuff south of the coast and over Long Island back into NJ should hit SE MA really nicely later. That band that was in western CT/MA is moving pretty quickly east. ChrisM
Maybe down there you are..snowing nicely I live 6 miles from you as the crow flies, it's -sn. You're not more than moderate snow with 0-5dbz echoes overhead, sorry. Our time comes later.
Clinch Leatherwood
I am surprised that Matt Noyes just said a C-2 for Boston. What do you guys think? He's obviously putting a lot of faith in the Euro, which is a decent move. Like I said, maybe I'll be wrong but I don't believe the NCEP stuff, coating to a few 2-3" down here, if we got more than 3" I'd be both happy and pretty surprised. The stuff developing along the south coast moves east and out overnight, then we're left watching a band hopefully move down from the NNE.

ChrisM
Regional radar. That hasn't refreshed in over a half hour, doesn't reflect the echoes intensifying in W CT
#NoPoles
i've been on the low end of every accumulation this year...people are already reporting measurable snow, and i only have dusting...
CoastalWx
BOS could easily only get 2".
ChrisM
I'm scared that band might miss Kevin and I a bit to the south. Hopefully it expands slightly, cause I bet it's snowing nicely under that.

powderfreak
That hasn't refreshed in over a half hour, doesn't reflect the echoes intensifying in W CT You mean that thin band of +20dbz on I-84 moving ESE?
Clinch Leatherwood
you probably already have 1/4" Just under 1/4" I'm home now and just drove right down Rte 3 from Boston. I doubt there's more than a dusting to a 1/4 of an inch anywhere in that stretch. At Derby Street there was the lightest of dustings, at Exit 5 a dusting (we stopped at both for errands). Just flurries/light snow here now. I think we'll get an inch or so from this first burst, and then be left looking NE as the second band rotates down. I'm just not sure it hits my area, I'm with Noyes on this one. I'll back away, that's my opinion and I may be wrong. I've only barely looked at the models in the last two days, just wasn't sold on this one. The stuff over me now develops for a few hours for sure. The other day when the Euro was too aggressive it was obvious. Unless I'm really missing something the NAM had .1+ down here by 0z on the 12z, and the 18z was keeping most of that stuff south before developing the band as it moves across MA. Busting from 12z, 18z was a little better. I haven't followed the posts been driving but thought I saw the HRRR posted with lots of snow down here. The Dev version was spot on the other night, it's not very impressive here overnight. Final call MBY is a coating to 2 or 3 inches due to uncertainty. Enjoy the "storm" will check in when I break an inch in a few hours. Just my opinion, I may be wrong.

DomNH
So now we bank of the norlun setting up far west enough for the next couple inches? Seems risky, wouldn't be surprised if we end up with pretty much what there is on the ground right now.

powderfreak
BOS could easily only get 2". Isn't the heaviest not supposed to be like after midnight through the morning rush hour? 18z NAM had the best snow from like 7am-12pm, no? That's still like 12 hours away, lol. mattb65
BOS could easily only get 2". Lol way to go, you caused two weenie suicides. We could get lucky and get 6" or more too if the chips fall the right way for us. Likely is 2-4" still IMO with big upside if things go right.
