NorthShoreWx
Actually Ed I'm about a half a mile ESE of where you put the dot and since about 4:45 PM we had light to occasionaly moderate snow...that seems to have ended in the last few minutes. No great accumulation...about 0.3"...but every little bit helps. For a long time this afternoon it was dry here after some flurries at around 2 PM. I'm still home, but I'm heading about 2 miles SE of here in a short while and I think I may find a coating there. Hopefully we can get a decent batch of crumbs later. Ericjcrash
We need that area of precip to lift more north for us. Otherwise it'll brush us and the heaviest precip will be over the ocean. Its not going to. Just won't snow here.
Cfa
Snow lightened up here in central Suffolk County, before I could take any pics. I'd say there's a little more than an inch on the ground, but I could be wrong.

TWCCraig
Its not going to. Just won't snow here. No it will, just will be light. The band itself is expanding north.
Ericjcrash
Ok, but that bands going E, a few flurries aren't special, The true weenie thing to do would be to exaggerate a few flurries and post false hope of an inch of snow. The place to be was Eastern Suffolk and now south central Jersey/Philly area.
SnoSki14
My area in east brunswick is about to get clipped, so I'm hoping for a nice coating at least.
Ericjcrash
No it will, just will be light. The band itself is expanding north. Very light and its moving east pretty quickly. A few flurries are just even more painful.
SBUWX23
there will be an expansion further north as the surface flow moves NE. This has been well documented by model data today. This lull is not unexpected. No it will, just will be light. The band itself is expanding north.

PB GFI
Its not going to. Just won't snow here. Its not going to. Just won't snow here. Chill Radar is filling in the NW NJ , that`s you`re snow , there are gaps in the radar , so it just takes time to see if the precip is back building
SnowGoose69
The snow band was well depicted by most meso models as having the core over C-NJ
PB GFI
Im sorry if this is off topic , but the constant positive reinforcement and hand holding that some of you need is really good practice for when I have kids . so thanks

That ties you with Richmond and puts you 1.6" ahead of DC. Hey, its a start

Isotherm
Snowing to beat the marching band. 28F and ripping.
PB GFI
You Suffolk county guys , when you look at the Upton return , you can see precip building from the south, Then jump on the MT Holly return and see that arc in NW NJ , you guys may snow hard if you can get those 2 bands to converge over you , before heading east . Somewhat of a potential deformation band forming to my eye , but its gona be like threading a needle .

bass28
It is not ripping, I can see it on radar & no reports around you corroborate. Why do posters in the Jersey exurbs always exaggerate obs?? He's not one to exaggerate and I think he's at villanova rite now.
NorthShoreWx
South shore looking better than the north shore over the next few hours, at least for the western half of Suffolk. Looks like its going to snow for everyone, but south is going to be better again for round 2. NAM and GFS both have this and radar seems to be falling right into line...at least so far. Snow died down for a brief bit, but seems to be picking back up again now. Radar looks like its filling in a bit too. I've already seen more than I thought I would.
