If you think you were screwed tonite go check out the forecast for Porstmouth NH where there were WSW and  8- 12 were expected  . and the arctic front already clearing the coast ,

If a Norlun doesnt develop tonite  ( and they typicallly are only 20 - 40 miles wide ) . think of the bust up there .

And certianly not Tautons fault , sh*t happens

35dbz snow band south of LI. Hamptons are going to get hit hard. Wouldn't be surprised if someone out east hit 5".

Robert Moses is under the dream band somewhere on Western Fire Island will get 6 inches or more. To bad there probably no one there to measure!

Snowing pretty decently the last hour...basically moderate snow...picked up 1/2 an inch in the last hour...8/10ths of an inch on the day.  Snow is very fine and powdery...sort of Blizzard of '83 snow.  Snow falling at present.  Temp 27 F.

As for snow ratios upton nws posted on Facebook that they had 1.5 of snow with only .03 of precip . They stated that that's 50-1 .

Somebody last night on this board mentioned a possible 40:1 ratio and the claim was immediately dismissed by those here "in the know".
