CapturedNature Posted January 22, 2013 Share Posted January 22, 2013 lol, I remember when I was at Lyndon back in the 80s that we used to guess the temperature by the sound of the snow and other observations like hair or noses freezing. It's amazing what you come up with when you have time on your hands! Meanwhile, it's 12° here. Just came in from my 7AM ob (I do 7a to 7a) and clearing the snow which didn't take long and it looks like the low on the alcohol thermometer in the ole Stevenson was 10°. Not bad! Up to 13.4/-2 off my low of 12.5. Jan 16, 2009 they hit -50 and set the Maine state record. I dont see any temp data for that site for Jan 2004, I think its a newer site.
