lol, I remember when I was at Lyndon back in the 80s that we used to guess the temperature by the sound of the snow and other observations like hair or noses freezing.  It's amazing what you come up with when you have time on your hands!

Meanwhile, it's 12° here.

Just came in from my 7AM ob (I do 7a to 7a) and clearing the snow which didn't take long and it looks like the low on the alcohol thermometer in the ole Stevenson was 10°.  Not bad!

That's pretty darn cold!  I think they got to -54 or something insane about 5 years ago (?).

Temps hardly moving at all here.

Up to 13.4/-2 off my low of 12.5.

Jan 16, 2009 they hit -50 and set the Maine state record. I dont see any temp data for that site for Jan 2004, I think its a newer site. Should be interesting to watch this week.

the P&C at ORH has 16F tomorrow???

can't see that. mav/met is 14/13 respectively - and i think that'll end up too warm.

They had 22F for this afternoon and the high thus far is 17F. It might have touched 18F between obs. We're going to end up with a post-midnight high temp of 19F.

MOS was anywhere from 1F to 5F too warm in Connecticut today.

MET MOS is 18 at BDL tomorrow... tickled that down to 15F to match the GFS 2M temps.

Thursday should be cold too.
