rgwp96
Yeah? So I assume pretty cold too? i dont see al levels but 850s def good, extreme eastern li gets above freezing(surface) at hr 102-
Kaner587
Yeah? So I assume pretty cold too? dont have soundings but the 850 line stays well south and east of the area, while the 32 degree line makes it as far west as the jersey shore, parts of southern NYC and central and eastern long island. Would imagine its still very snowy for the entire area.
Ericjcrash
i dont see al levels but 850s def good, extreme eastern li gets above freezing(surface) at hr 108 Not surprising but this works for me. 6-12" area wide? Kaner587
How about south jersey and philly...our pbp team seems to have gone to bed in spite of the zeros of dollars we pay them philly is about 0.6-0.7 and all frozen. Most of southern jersey is good, just eastern sections near the shore rise to above 32 but may still be mostly if not all snow.

Kaner587
I dont even have to look at the rest of the 500mb evolution and can tell that this solution is the result of the northern stream finally catching up and phasing. The thing with this evolution is that there is some wiggle room, as if this southern stream purely outruns the northern stream then we still could end up with a formidable event maybe on the order of 2-4/3-6. The phasing solutions will need to continue to be modeled as late as the euro depicts otherwise this could amp up much further west. Its good to see an amped solution off shore. Kaner587
.25-.50, eastern nj above freezing at the surface I'm not sure what you're looking at but the SV maps show much more.... in one time frame alone (96-102) over 0.5+ falls over all of eastern jersey. Kaner587
u cant just assume its .50, the scale goees .25-.50. thats not true the color coding is dark green=0.5-0.75 check the bottom....0.05-0.1 is lightest green, next shade is 0.1-0.25, next shade is 0.25-0.5 and dark is 0.5-0.75. Blue shade is 0.75-
rgwp96
thats not true the color coding is dark green=0.5-0.75 im talking about philly area, probably more like .50 but just being conservitive
Kaner587
im talking about philly area, probably more like .50 but just being conservitive you clearly said 0.25-0.5 eastern NJ. That just isn't true almost 0.75 or more falls there. Im pretty sure you're reading the scale wrong. Around the philly area they have from 90-96 basically 0.25. Next frame its another 0.25+ (probably close to 0.35 if I had to guess based on the gradient). So while it is "close" to 0.5 it absolutely has to be greater based on the gradient. We'll see bufkit soon

Kaner587
bufkit is 0.9 for NYC...would probably be a solid 8-12 maybe 10-14 if we can get in on some higher ratios in the beginning and as the storm moves away, as we warm close to 32 at the height (although still probably 29-30). Kaner587
How about KLGA? the actual bufkit was courtesy of Ji in the midatlantic thread...but just based on estimation and location LGA is probably 0.95ish there is definitely a gradient going on there where places like EWR and west may see around 0.70-0.75 while most of LI is above 1.
