Success! Alek's map for Feb 13-14, 2007, posted on Feb 12. A little low on max amounts, and maybe a touch too far north with southern edge of that zone...but really, not a bad call at all.

He forgot to add in the lake effect. haha

That was a really fluffy snow here. One of my top 10 favorite system, due to it's long duration.

Just looked up the WGN forecast on the iPhone WGN Weather app.....

the forecast is stating a "dusting" for Thursday, with "some flurries" for Friday...... With temps then climbing to 40 or near 40 by Monday.

So, if there is any snow (not holding my breath) Thurs-Fri, it will be gone by next Wed... Forecast for Sunday through Wednesday next week: 36/29 Sunny, 39/32 Sunny, 39/27 Sunny, 35/23 Sunny.

people getting unhinged over the NAM... not one of the GLOV's best moments.

This potential event has made a mockery of GLOV posters forecasts. Remember about 5 days ago...many were so sure this would be a torchy rainstorm following the arctic cold. Now many think its going to be a disorganized suppressed mess if not miss as the cold lingers. And its still 3+ days away. I think I will wait before I jump on a solution, but middle ground between suppressed miss and torchy rain would be awfully nice.

Jokes aside, I think we will get some snow here. How much is and will remain a question mark the next few days.

Detroit area will get a solid 1-4" event. High ratios. Don't think I will be here for this event

Sure not what Skilling was getting at with the snowfall map at 5pm, lol.

GFS is better then the NAM, which kind of surprises me.

I'll take a glass of white wine. Not picky, unless it's on the dry side.

GFS shows about an inch for here and the QC.  Think I'll keep riding my early call for 1-2" for this area.  Certainly looks better the further east you go in the region.  Still really like northern Indiana/southern MI/ and most of Ohio for this.  Looks like Iowa is gonna get very little, except for the far east and northeast.

I think thats actually a good call for this early in the game. With the clipper coming from the NW (and crossing the water of Lake MI no less) and the L forming in the south and riding NE, even if they stay seperate I have a hard time believing that will not form snow over us. Perhaps it will be a very widespread area of 1-4" snow with some heavier amounts in probably IN/OH and maybe lake locals.
