Temp is 11.8F here in Clarksburg, lowest reading of the year.  Temp has dropped from 14.7F to 11.8F in the last 55 minutes.  DP is a very dry -2F and winds are out of the WNW at 13mph.  Gusts are from the W tho, averaging 18-22mph.  Nearest Weatherbug (900m SW) is at 11.9F

13 for the overnight low and 13 now. and my gas furnace won't turn on and it overrides the heat pump so it's a balmy 52 inside.

Dropped to 12 here.  Hope you get your furnace fixed very soon!  These things always seem to happen at the worst time, like a furnace going out on the coldest (to date) night of the winter.

14 with a wind chill of 11 here. The wind was wild last night. Our bedroom faces west and every time we have a wind event it sounds like pebbles are being thrown at the windows all night.

Sorry to hear about your furnace wxtrix. A few years back at our old house the furnace went out and we had to replace it. I think it was the coldest day in Feb during that cold snap back in 2007 that they were installing it. Keep warm!

thanks! the guys will be here by noon to fix it. small town living is great b/c local business people offer a high level of customer service. in the meantime, thank goodness for the fireplace!

That's good to hear.  Our furnace also went out on the coldest day of the winter several years ago, so I know how uncomfortable that can get.  After that we ended up getting a service contract so that we can get to the head of the line.  Had to use it the year before last, and the service appointment was within two hours.  Definitely no fun being so cold inside, and the peace of mind is nice.  It also includes cleaning and maintenance of the entire system (heat and AC) twice a year, so for the moderate cost of the contract, so it's been well worth it to us.

We have a service contract also. With our new home we decided that we wanted the system in working order. It is possible we have the same company doing our contracts.
