tombo82685
if i had to take a guess this run will be the same or south of 18z. Its hard to tell because its so much slower than the 18z run.

The ridge out west is more amp'd, but the east coast height field is flatter... Hard to say what this will do.
tombo82685
The ridge out west is more amp'd, but the east coast height field is flatter... Hard to say what this will do. but the ridge being more amplified out west is helping the trof dig more in the east, holding the colder air longer. tombo82685
that ridge out west helped amplify everything allowing the trof to dig more in the east. The low is slower, but the northern stream energy isn't as robust and doesn't dig as much do to the confluence holding stronger.

With a track that close I imagine there has to be issues. verbatim, eveyrthing & one looks good except the southern tip of cape may county which briefly flirts with the 925 0 + line...but i would imagine thats all frozen with decent qpf cooling the column

tombo82685
Gotta watch that clipper over Minnesota, cannot have a phase between it and this system. yea the euro was showing that. It was diving that northern stream energy right into that.
Capt. Adam
Now can we lock this in? lol Definitely big enough hit to keep Southstar grounded. Maybe not biggest Euro of our lives, but of '12-'13 I'd say.
SmokeEater
From the MA thread. We always make fun of the NAM, but this big change at 500 coming right on the heels of the NAM run should give a little confidence. They are carbon copies at 500 at 84 hours. Mitchell Gaines
snow falls at a rate of an inch per hour in the late afternoon Friday on the GFS. I'll take this and leave the modeling casino a winner.
SnowGoose69
This year it seems we have had zero phasing from northern stream Probably will be the same here, just have to keep watching it, the pattern is moving pretty quickly Days 3-5 so I'd be surprised if that clipper was able to phase in.
